
With a crowd-pleasing mix of Bluegrass energy and driving Old-Time rhythms, Sian & Rob Colquhoun deliver an authentic performance full of vitality. Expect toe-tapping tunes and songs with gorgeous close harmonies, fiery flatpickin’ and hypnotic clawhammer banjo with a flourish of percussive flat-foot dancing.
This entertaining duo bring a carefully curated repertoire plus self-penned songs drawing on early bluegrass, old-time mountain music, country blues and their own Scots-Irish Roots. Influences range from The Stanley Brothers, The Carter Family, Doc Watson and Hazel Dickens through to Patsy Cline.

Sian Colquhoun is a singer, songwriter and musician, known for her velvet vocals and gorgeous harmonies. She plays guitar, autoharp and harmonica.
Following a career as a TV and radio journalist and then a government PR and Communications specialist Sian began working as a full-time musician in 2008. She founded Sing Alive community choirs and the White Doves peace choir. She has also led large choirs including Bristol Voices and the Walcot State Choir, run singing workshops and scratch festival choirs, including at the renowned Village Pump Folk Festival.

Rob Colquhoun is a guitar player, singer-songwriter, composer and tutor with more than 40 years experience. From 2010 Rob provided the driving rhythm guitar for ‘experimental/psych folk’ combo and festival favourites, Lightgarden.
He is expert in both finger-style and flatpicking, playing his own beautifully crafted arrangements of traditional and contemporary songs. He also plays mandolin and clawhammer banjo.
