Sian & Rob Colquhoun are a close-harmony Americana duo blending original songwriting with the drive of bluegrass and old-time music.
Their sound draws on early bluegrass, old-time mountain music and country blues, brought together with a distinctly roots-led approach shaped by their Scots-Irish heritage.
Featuring clawhammer banjo, flatpicked guitar, percussive flat-foot dancing and tightly woven vocal harmonies, their live performances balance rhythmic intensity with stripped-back, song-focused arrangements.
Alongside a growing catalogue of original material, they reinterpret traditional songs with energy and care, creating sets that move between the intimate and the propulsive.
Finalists in the Purbeck Rising competition 2025, they released their debut EP in October, with a first full-length album of predominantly original songs due in summer 2026.
“Fantastic! Gorgeous bluegrass melodies and stunning harmonies with original songs that fit seamlessly alongside those that have been around for many decades” — Swindon Folk Club
